| Richard Lord | St. Mary\'s County | Maryland | NA | There is an Osprey nest with a pair of adults with young on my (now their) Gazebo at the end of my (now their) pier that goes out 100ft. into White's Neck Creek which is a tributary to the Potomac River. The nest has been there about 20 years, and Osprey nest their every year. There is a dead tree on the creek bank that I left there as a perch for the Osprey who like to eat their fish dinners there. I watch the Osprey from my screened in porch on my home that is about 50ft from the creek, and about 30 ft fro the tree. Wonderful observing these great birds. I have just returned from Mallorca, an island in the Mediterranean Sea, where I saw several ospreys up on the Cuber Reservoir (they are residents on the island). Being able to see your birds incubate their eggs live and witness all the comings and goings is a real privilege. Thank you to all those people who have made this possible. |
