from my husband: He replaced my black-board in the kitchen with one with 3 pictures of ospreys on the top. He found the pictures on the "net" and made it himself! |

How sweet Celeste! You too Nancy! I didn't get any osprey gifts, but I did get a gift certificate for the Wild Bird Market in W Sayville. I try and feed the birds will some good seeds and nuts. They have such wonderful bird related items. BTW, the certificate was from my hubby. |

I love the above mentioned store and suggest it to my friends as where to shop for birding needs. |

Well I received my Sibley Guide - what stunning birds you have in the US. Its made me want to come over there more than ever. I also got a lovely book by a Canadian author Graeme Gibson called 'The Bedside Book of Birds - an avian miscellany'. Last night I was reading an extract from Wilson's American Ornithology dated 1811. A certain Thomas Smith captured an osprey and one of it's young and kept them in a coop whilst he drew them. His conclusion was that he had never seen such a violent attack as the parent birds defended their young and he called the osprey "the prince of fish hawks". |

For a long time I have had this "fantasy" Anne, that somehow we could have an "international" gathering of Puleston "osprey featherheads"!!!!! |
