I try and feed the birds will some good seeds and nuts. They have such wonderful bird related items. BTW, the certificate was from my hubby. |

| Anne | 12/28/05 04:53 pm | Well I received my Sibley Guide - what stunning birds you have in the US. Its made me want to come over there more than ever. I also got a lovely book by a Canadian author Graeme Gibson called 'The Bedside Book of Birds - an avian miscellany'. Last night I was reading an extract from Wilson's American Ornithology dated 1811. A certain Thomas Smith captured an osprey and one of it's young and kept them in a coop whilst he drew them. His conclusion was that he had never seen such a violent attack as the parent birds defended their young and he called the osprey "the prince of fish hawks". |
