Thread subject: Day 66 for Flag
Name Date Message
Tiger 08/03/06 05:09 am Well at least it is a new record.
Anne 08/03/06 05:23 am Yes and I am a bit concerned today. Flag is not his usual self, he looks all in. The temperature is 87F but part cloudy. We need early fish this morning.
DaisyG 08/03/06 05:41 am He looks ok to me Anne. I'm so pleased the temperature is down and yes, hopefully breakfast is early and plentiful.
Anne 08/03/06 05:43 am But every time i get on he is quiet, which is unusual.
Anne 08/03/06 05:53 am Having said that - just got on for 2 MINUTES and he is making a din now.

The site is coming in at 350kb. Is that good or bad? (I have Broadband).
DaisyG 08/03/06 05:53 am He's been doing some great hovers, way up high and still chunners away to himself at times. Star seems to have found her voice nowadays.
DaisyG 08/03/06 05:54 am I don't know Anne, as long as I get on I don't bother about that sort of thing.

Tiger do you know?
Tiger 08/03/06 05:56 am 350 Kb is normal. In bad times it drops down to 34 Kb.
Anne 08/03/06 06:00 am Yes, now that Stripe has arrived I have decided that Star is the one making the most noise. If they had nothing last night they will be very hungry wont they.
DaisyG 08/03/06 06:03 am Yes I'm sure they are hungry. None of us saw any of them eating during the times the cam was up. So it seems they had nothing after those large fish earlier in the day.
Anne 08/03/06 06:11 am I wonder if the fish swim lower in the heat? We have golden orfe and goldfish in our pond. The orfe swim quite deep but the goldfish love to bask in the sun. However last week when it was very hot the goldfish hid lower down in the weeds.
Far 08/03/06 06:12 am Flag has had less struggle for his share of food since the other two have fledged, the food is just being dropped off in the nest, and he can feed himself, and not have to deal with Betty's bias. Maybe he's a little hesitant to give up the best situation he's had in his life so far. Also, as others have pointed out, his development needs to catch up due to his inconsistent supply of food when he had to depend on Betty.
Tiger 08/03/06 07:00 am Flag always livens up when there is fish around.
cathleen 08/03/06 07:39 am Maybe the lack of dinner last night is Betty's way of telling them to go get their own.
Tiger 08/03/06 07:44 am Yes I have hear of osprey parents sitting with fish and refusing to give in to the chicks as a hint that they should be getting their own.
