Talk about dumb luck. I was at the nest at 10 am this morning and saw that a group of people had arrived to presumably put the cam equip. up for the year. So I go back to Beaver Dam Creek and talk to some fisherman. No one had heard/seen any ospreys yet this week. So I went back to Wertheim NWR and walked around and talked to a park ranger, he hadn't seen or heard any ospreys yet this week. I'm about a mile or so away from the DPOF nest on one of the observation platforms at Wertheim and using my binocs I can see that they put the cam equip back up at the nest site. It's now 11:45 or so. Here it is 2pm and I've missed it all. That's it for me, I ain't never leaving my computer again to mingle with nature. |

Dumb luck, indeed ;) But don't you dare not mingle with nature ... we count on your "on the ground" reports and photos; and remember there's usually someone online at any given time to keep us informed. |

Terry, the osprey first had to show "us" who are nice and warm in our homes. Perhaps the osprey came in first thing this morning, was sitting in the tree watching the cam being installed, sat in the nest for a while so "we" could see him/her, and now the nest is empty, so I am guessing they are at Beaver Dam!:-))))) |

Your turn will come for sure Terry. Always better to see them for real...meanwhile, back to the cam :-) Thanks to all concerned for getting the cam operational again. Seems like a good streaming picture (no sound for me either yet) |

Naaaw I quit, that's it back to the fish crow for me, something calming about their duck-like calls - lol. And I checked the surrounding trees to see if anyone was perched but nothing their either. Of course this could be a bird temporarily resting/fishing before carrying on its migration further north. |

Dude, a similar experience for me. I was in the area earlier in the morning, probably spoke to the same fishermen. Was near the barn when the camera went up. Posted a message via my phone on the message board that the camera was up and ,,, Here is where I have you beat. I drove to orient point and hit every osprey location I know. After 137 miles round trip driving , No Osprey for me today. |

Did you see a black Pathfinder behind the blue truck (with ladders on it) go into the boadyard? I was in that car but turned around immediately. I wasn't invited and wasn't about to crash their yearly tradition. I did go into the Squassux Landing area to take some shots but the cam wasn't up then. Just wasn't our day Tim. Orient Pt. is a long haul. |
