At any rate, I was talking with my banding buddy Greg - he said he had received over 20 phone calls about chicks getting blown out of nests or nest being blown off platforms. He told me this was one of the calls he got. STORY HERE |

| Melanie | 07/28/10 09:31 pm | What I do know is that they were taken to a small nearby island, nest and all. Greg (my banding buddy) advised them this should be a safe option. They said the parents were circling above and they didn't want to disturb the birds further. There are no ground-based predators on the island and two houses (only one lived in year round by a 75 y/o man whom I know and he is aware of what happened) so the birds should be safe and unmolested. Hard to know if there will be a follow up but if he tells me anything I will post it. |
