Thread subject: Location of the nest

Pam 06/19/04 07:00 pm I always imagined the nest to be quite far away from human habitation but with the loud pop music being played at the moment I am wondering how far the nearest houses are - perhaps the sound is being carried on the wind but it seems pretty near - now train woo-woos I don't mind but - yuck - pop music - no way !
Mickey 06/19/04 07:05 pm Its a strong North wind so the music is getting help. But there are homes close but not on top of the nest.I estimate less then a 1/8 of a mile.Wait till the brass quartet plays on the 4th of July. The tubas and the fireworks will have you rotflol
Dorothy 06/19/04 07:06 pm why people play music so loud is beyond me; give me train woo-woos anytime and lots of chirping birds.
Mickey 06/19/04 07:14 pm The music could be coming from a home, the marina or a anchored boat out in the water for the day or night. Here around the nest its graduation season so it might be a backyard party too. Think of the chicks being introduced to all kinds of music :) Over the winter Liberty had called me collect from South America or Cuba and commented about the Reggae music :) If I lived near the nest all they would hear is Springsteen 24/7 :)))))
Pam 06/19/04 07:38 pm LOL - perhaps some cool Charlie Parker (Bird) would be appropriate !
Celeste 06/20/04 04:34 am Wow Mickey, I forgot about the "entertainment" Liberty & Freedom had last Fourth of July! Hard to believe a whole year ago....
