Thread subject: What's in the nest?
Name Date Message
Nancy R 06/28/04 08:11 pm What's in the nest at the 4 or 5 o'clock position?
Mickey 06/28/04 08:27 pm The white object is those white feathers I think Nancy. If your refering to the brownish object in front of the feathers,I think its seaweed thats just wet.Someone said they thought it was a chick but I dont think so. If it was they would have eaten it :( And it cant be from past nesting seasons as those chicks are disintergrated and in Osprey heaven.
Mickey 06/28/04 08:31 pm or tree bark :)
Cecilia 06/28/04 10:29 pm It's a big feather (or a couple of them). I was watching a few days ago when Betty landed with it. She left it in the 1 o'clock position but it has been gravitating south every day :-)
Nancy R 06/28/04 10:51 pm Thanks so much for the responses. It sure looks like the distinctive markings of an osprey head, yikes!
