Thread subject: Beginner Observers from Last Year?
Name Date Message
Mickey 04/12/04 05:15 pm I wasnt lucky enough to observe the nest from the start last year. I started around the 1st egg hatching I think. So my question to you who observed last year from the start and this year from the start is, are both Adults behaving roughly the same? I ask because to me it seems the roosting chores seem to be very evenly split this year then last year. When the eggs started to hatch the female roosted almost all of it by herself. Well ????
Marie 04/12/04 06:33 pm From all my reading about OSPREYS lately it idicates that the female does all the brooding of the newly hatched eggs and becomes a stay at home MOM whilst the male goes off and does all the shopping for the family. Mean while until the eggs hatch it seems in this case that there is an almost equal time spent on the eggs by both male and female.
