cathy 08/01/04 02:11 pm On the Blackwater site http://www.friendsofblackwater.org/osprey_cam_blog/ there is an interesting guesstimate of the route the Maryland ospreys take to their wintering place. They expect each family member winters in a different location and then the male and female couple join back up to fly north in the spring. I thought it was an interesting account of the strength and persistance of these spectacular birds (as well as that of other migrating birds).
