Shelley 09/04/04 07:21 am I am bumping this up because Tom I posted important info about the spraying and I didn't want it to disappear off this page before people get a chance to read it. Thank you for that, Tom. It is reassuring to know that. I sure hope it works!! In fact, if you read this, perhaps you copy highlight, copy and repost it up here, under this thread so others don't miss it.

Thanks again.
Celeste 09/04/04 09:54 am Thanks Shelley, I wouldn't have noticed if you didn't post the above thread. Very interesting Tom and thanks for informing us.
Kathy 09/04/04 12:39 pm Tom, thank you for your information.
Marie 09/04/04 07:15 pm Thanks Tom....most intersting and reassuring.
Matt 09/04/04 09:38 pm Given that these chemicals don't bother Ospreys, what about the ones that do help us and eat mosquitos? Dragonflys, which used to be quite in abundance here are have dwindled down in the past few years. They are not harmful in any way to people or fruits or anything. Also bats are extremely helpful to us as well. They eat mosquitos and whatever other bugs are flying around.

Contrary to myths, bats do not go for humans. They don't attack nor bite them. There is however, one type of bat either in Africa or south Asia, I don't remember which. It does go for blood, but it only bites pigs and cows. Rarely does it bite people. However this species of bats is not in the U.S.

And the most important question, what effect do these chemicals have on people? Especially children?
