Its kind of a long word document for a dreary fall day, but I hope you enjoy it and learn a little about what I saw that relates to water and ospreys.
Let me know if you have problems downloading it or questions about what I observed.

Celeste 11/13/04 08:54 pm Thank you Cathy.....extremely interesting and insightful. Yes, it is unfortunate that wildlife has to "adjust" to humans and our needs.....and as you said, osprey have survived DDT and hopefully as they seem to prove time and time again, they can hopefully adjust to the environment we provide. However, your closing is truly thought provoking and I do agree we all have a responsibility, no matter how insignificant it may seem to do something to preserve our world and ALL of its inhabitants. I enjoyed sharing your trip and your beautiful photos. I also appreciate the time you took to provide us with reading and "thinking" during our osprey "recess"!
Marie 11/14/04 12:13 am I applaud you cathy on such an indepth report of your recent trip. So well done. What a lot of information. You must have been busy writing every evening to recap the events of each day. Thank you for sharing. There are so many things that man has devised that impact upon nature. It is an ethical question as to whether man has the RIGHT to plunder, manipulate and squander the world's resources for man's use alone, without any respect and concern for the environment we share with all birds, animals and plant life. I believe for our very preservation we MUST learn to RESPECT this world we live in and all that dwelleth therein.
