Cecilia 04/20/04 11:50 am Hi Tom, If you are checking the board you will see that we are experiencing various problems with the live video. Sometimes we get sound and a frozen picture, sometimes the stuffed animal and sometimes the RealOne screen won't even open and we get a message about network problems. Is this a traffic issue or cable cutting the Kbps? Can you fix it, as you so often have done in the past? :-) Thanks! Cecilia

Tom T 04/21/04 08:10 am I have been watching the problems with the camera feed connection. I do not know what the specific problem is, but I do know what it is not.

The camera and computer at the nest site are working fine (if the camera itself goes out, then you would see a blue image rather than the image of my son's sixth grade "Home and Careers" project).

What is happening is that sometime during the transmission the connection between the camera computer and the server computer is lost. Usually there is a message in the log, but not always. When the connection is lost, the software does not try to reestablish the connection until the end of the current half hour cycle, so you will see the hedgehog clip until then.

I will continue to try to find the root cause of the problem, but network delays are usually eventually fixed since they affect the overall performance of the network.
