Jack 04/21/04 08:33 am Can anyone refer me to a GOOD website for hearing bird songs and calls? I need to brush up for this bird count at the refuge. Thanks for any help anyone can provide
Cecilia 04/21/04 09:13 am Jack, Here a three good sites that should be helpful! Happy Birding!

Patuxent Bird Identification Center:
http://www.mbr-pwrc.usgs.gov/id/framlst/framlst.html

Suny Stony Brook - Links to Birdsongs and Birding:
http://www.math.sunysb.edu/~tony/birds/links.html

Bird Song Central - Birding by ear - Spring Tune Up:

Jack 04/21/04 09:36 am Thank you so much Celia. I will be checking them all out. I have a month to get ready for this count. It seems like it is a very structured and precise operation....so you have to have your act together. Thanks again.
Shelley 04/21/04 11:59 am I also have a few bookmarked at home so once I get home tonight (I'm still at school right now, on lunch!), I'll add them. One I know, though, that Cecilia didn't mention, is the enature.com site. It's a great resource site and for every bird you click on, there is an audio link, as well. But I'll check my others later and get back to you.
Celeste 04/21/04 05:24 pm Jack, I too was going to recommend enature.com. I just discovered it the other day and it has a lot to offer. Perfect for bird calls. Though for some reason, the mind lately is not being cooperative. I think I have the call memorized, until I hear it outside and I can't remember what bird it is!!!! Yikes!
Shelley 04/21/04 07:10 pm Ok, here are a few I cam e up with . I thought I had more but maybe I was just imagining that. These 3 are good. The one I use most is enature:

http://www.enature.com/guides/select_birds.asp

I will also try the links Cecilia posted.
Jack 04/22/04 10:08 am Shelly and Celeste...Thank you both so much for taking the time to help me out. I will check out all the suggestions
