Marie 04/21/04 05:47 pm well that TESTING message went through!
I did comment in my last message that like Celeste and Ron that I feel 'CHAT ROOMS' can be time consuming and intimidating. This present system seems to work well most days.
Mickey 04/21/04 06:20 pm I dont think Tom was suggesting a chat room Ladies and Gentlemen. He said chat style. Like each post by whoever would just be posted as the next entry with a number time stamp. The post wouldnt go under the thread you were responding to as Tom said would be a draw back. It would also be confusing as he11. When Jack said a chat room, I did say I could easily set one up. Wouldnt it be cool to have a DPOF invited guest like say twice a month or so? For those who couldnt make the chat it could be logged and emailed at a later time.
Tim 04/21/04 07:22 pm I like the idea of live chat. I have taken place in some live chats over the years and it's great being able to speak to the director of your favorite film or your favorite musician. Just as it would be to be able to speak some experts in this field. Although there would need to be some monitoring to keep things in order. Most message boards have moderators assigned to maintain the board with such tasks as, Keeping individual threads, deleting threads the may not be appropriate, and being able to answer technical questions. Also eventually there will be a problem with trolls, another name for people who just like to drop in on random boards and rooms and cause havoc. There is a lot to consider but I think it's a great idea.
