||The "cape like stance wiht his wings spread" tht Celest has described, and is on one of the archived stills, is this some sort of mating display on the part of the male? (Sorta like a peacock.)

||RON, I WAS GOING TO ASK THE SAME QUESTION. I REMEMBER FROM LAST YEAR THE CHICKS DOING THIS WING THING WHEN THEY WERE TRYING TO PROTECT THEIR PORTION OF FISH, BUT, YES I WAS GOING TO ASK THE SAME QUESTION REGARDING THE MALE!

||Celeste are you sure it was Dennis with his wings sprayed open? Your ob seems pretty conclusive as Dennis soon got ontop of Betty. By now we all know that this is one way that the Osprey protect their food. I read somewhere that when the Adult female is feeling amorous she will spread her wings alittle, raise her rear and push her tail aside. Maybe Dennis had a very tiny piece of food ? Warm weathers coming :)

||I believe the archived still taken on March 22 at 05:51 shows this behavior. Can anyone tell Dennis from Betty in this photo?

||The archived photo is what I witnessed on the 22nd, and yes that was Dennis who was putting his wings in a cape like stance. I knew it was Dennis because he was smaller when he was standing next to Betty. Of course the final judges will be DPOF.
