Cecilia 04/30/04 10:27 am Hi all...

I put this follow up on the link that Mickey started a day or two ago and then realized that you might not see it so far down the page so I'm repeating it here:

Looks like Mickey is the the only taker so we're working out how and where to meet him. I have a map of Wertheim and a Hagstroms but it is hard to tall from either how far or how long it will take for us to paddle to the Wertheim observation platform, if we put the canoe in the water at the launch just off of Sunrise Hgwy. We also don't know if we can land at Werthem...is there a dock, sandy beach, steep cliff? And are there signs prohibiting people on the water from coming ashore there? Anybody know? We're leaving here to drive out east at about 2 PM today. Then tomorrow morning we will drive to Wertheim from East Hampton. We think it will take about an hour. Mickey lives very close to The Carmens River so we may just call him once we get there and get a handle on the situation. I'm taking my digital camera so I should be able to get some decent pictures that I can send to Mickey and he can put on the picture site. Keep your fingers crossed for sunshine and a light breeze! Bon Voyage.
Nancy L 04/30/04 05:09 pm My husband canoes on the Carmen's quite a bit: I've gone once with him. There are really only 2 places you can "dock." There is an island on the east side of the river called Indian Is. You can get out and walk there. The only other place is at the end of Beaver Dam Rd., which will be on your right going south. He estimates about 45 minutes to an hour one way to Beaver Dam Rd.
Mickey 04/30/04 05:13 pm Nancy how would you feel about calling me so I could pick your brain for Cecilia please?

my email is sunbum@optonline.net
Mickey 04/30/04 07:03 pm Its all worked out. Cecilia has it under control.
