Thread subject: Great Horned Owls
Name Date Message
Tim 05/02/04 08:10 pm For the second year in a row I'm watching a pair of great Horned Owls rear young. Last year there was only 1 but this year they have 2 to feed.
It's very errie to see the pile of bones under one of the trees they nest in. The young are out of the nest, now jumping from branch to branch still unable to fly.
Shelley 05/02/04 08:15 pm Tim, is this live or at another cam? I once did an outdoor education course and one of the things I found most interesting, and of course, so do the kids ;-) is how we learned to tell what owls eat by looking at and dissecting owl pellets. Yep, bones!!!
Tim 05/03/04 06:15 am Hi Shelley, I'm watching these birds live, they are very awesome to see. I have collected some very large pellets and have disected them. I use them as an educational tool.
