Tiger 06/19/05 04:15 pm If any of you hear people complaining about what happened at Indianapolis today and I feel sure that some of you will you can advise them to take up osprey watching instead! :)

Pam 06/19/05 04:49 pm What happened ?
Tiger 06/19/05 04:55 pm Oh it is one of those moments that is destined to be talked about for a long time. Basically a F1 motor race was reduced to only six cars right from the start because the other fourteen chose not to race.

Not surprisingly the crowd who had paid lots of money to watch were not best pleased.

Pam 06/19/05 05:21 pm Oh, thanks, LOL. Motor racing - not much fun ... Osprey watching - lots of fun !
Tiger 06/19/05 05:51 pm Yes osprey watching is a whole lot cheaper too!
JoJo 06/19/05 09:42 pm Why did they choose not to run? You've piqued my curiosity!
Tiger 06/20/05 02:00 am Oh JoJo that is a long story but I will try to make it as succint as possible.

Basically 14 of the cars use Mitchelin tires while 6 use Bridgestone. Now it was discovered on Sunday that it was not safe to run the Michelin tyres at top speed around one particular corner.

Many solutions were proposed but at the end of the day there was no agreement and the Mitchelin shod cars did not race.

Marie 06/20/05 12:08 pm Such a shame TIGER..........I used to love motor racing when I was a younger person. ;-) probably would today even, however I would have to travel to the mainland for the Indi as I believe that is held in Vancouver on some occasions.
JoJo 06/20/05 03:43 pm I picked up the paper today here in Richmond to read about it. Amazing. I don't follow F1 too often, but they are coming here in a week or two I think. Interesting story. Thanks for the details.
