We have seen young osprey put on some fearsome exhibitions of gluttony not least by Brook a few night ago.
So who wins the title of biggest glutton over the last three years? I know that Chickzilla had a fearsome reputation but I often saw her walk away FULL. I am not sure either of these two chicks have walked away much.
As for Freedom and Liberty I never saw them :(
So what do you think?

Haven just made an attempt to steal the remains after about 10-15 minutes of watching Brook feed. Brook will not relent. I wonder, too how much can she eat? Will this make Haven more likely to learn how to catch his own, sooner? |

I don't think hunger is the driving force with Haven - she kind of reminds me of Dudley Dursley in Harry Potter. She's certainly never lacked for food, although I see what I call the "Tara Syndrome" - cue Scarlett O'Hara standing out on the ridge in the sunset shaking her fist at the sky saying "I'll never go hungry again!" (music swells and blackout) |

Yesterday I noted in one of my observations that Brook (I think) was gorging herself with such gusto, that her entire head seemed to be disappearing into the cavity of the headless fish with each bite, while Haven sidled up close in the hope of stealing a nibble. Brook was so engrossed that I doubt she even noticed Haven because she made no attempt to hood the fish.
I'd call that gluttony, wouldn't you, lol! |

Do the chicks usually peck at their parents like was reported today on the obs board? I don't recall that from last year. |

It's a hard call...Brook of was quite the bully and certainly got fed the most....and yes, there were tugs of war and fighting with last year's Betty.....remember when all three birds were tugging at a piece of fish? However, CZ's personality, bullishness still stands out in my mind, always getting her way, screeching and screaming, complaining constantly, and was last and lagged behind in her first flight by more than a couple of days of both of her siblings! |
