Thread subject: Noisier than last year?
Name Date Message
Pam 07/24/05 03:20 pm It seems to me that these two chicks this year make a great deal more noise than the three of last year put together and seem more demanding. Is that just my imagination or do others agree? I think it will come as welcome relief for the parents when they can finally absolve their responsibility for this squawky pair of birds and get some peace and quiet in South America.
Shelley 07/24/05 07:12 pm I think you are right, Pam. These two certainly have well-developed lungs!
Nancy L 07/24/05 07:22 pm I agree also, and hope that they start learning to fish for themselves, soon. Maybe it's time for Dennis to cease bringing fish up to the nest. He has been so good at it, there have been many times when each chick had its own fish to eat!
Cecilia 07/24/05 07:38 pm I would put Brook up against CZ any day but I think Haven has been quieter, at least until tonight. She is having a fit right now because she lost a fish to Brook and is screaming her head off. What I find interesting is that they have been spending so much time in the nest. I don't remember seeing so much of last year's brood after they fledged. These two don't seem to go very far...too afraid they might miss a fish delivery. Yes...Dennis may have to back down the meals to get them out fishing with him :-)
Shelley 07/24/05 08:08 pm Cec, I was thinking the same thing today, about them spending so much time in the nest. Shouldn't they be out flying, practicing, learning a bit more? They are like teens who never seem ready to move out!
