Some of you may remember I have been reading Marie Winn's book "Red-Tails in Love" and I thought you may be interested in looking at some fantastic up-to-date pictures of the current fledglings at the Manhattan nest:

Thank you Pam....I "think" of what might be going on with "Pale Male", but always say "later" for checking the site.....Today because of your posting I did.....what stunning photos, I especially enjoyed how he referred to Pale Male Sr. as Grandpa. So glad those birds triumphed.
If anyone is interested in a fantastic book about a red tail hawk that "adopted" a family in Ontario, Canada, including photos.....(the hawk would knock on the windows when it was time to eat or "help" with the gardening when the mistress of the house was working outside" the name is--
"A Wing in the Door" Life with a Red-tail Hawk by Peri Phillips McQuay.
A true story by the way....(soft cover) |

I'll make a note of that one Celeste. Always nice to have pictures to accompany the text. I thought I would print out a few from the PM site and pop into the appropriate places in my book if that is allowed. We used to have a seagull sit in the window box at our apartment in Cornwall and bang on the window with its beak for breakfast. It was amusing at first but got to be a real nuisance eventually as it would start at first light, before we were ready to start OUR day. |

Celeste: I ordered "A Wing in the Door" this morning - it will be shipped from USA so I have to wait impatiently for delivery. |

Thanks for this reminder, Celeste. I do remember you mentioning this book before but had forgotten about it. I have made a note of the author and title and will look for it now. Living right here in Ontario, I would hope that it wouldn't be too hard for me to find it! ;-) |

Those pics of the young Red tails are delightful. Thanks Pam for being our librarian and keeping us all up to date. |
