Thread subject: Another kind of lift-off
Name Date Message
Pam 07/26/05 08:29 am From now on today I will be watching NASA TV on my computer for the launch of space shuttle Discovery. All systems go in today's countdown so far.
Marie 07/26/05 09:13 am As for this lift off. This mission, once again seems to be plagued with problems. I won't be happy till it is back on earth having completed its mission. I wouldn't want to be any of those assigned and heading inside that thing for lift off.
Tiger 07/26/05 09:39 am Oh my first love astronautics!

Will be taking a keen interest!
Tiger 07/26/05 10:52 am The USA is back in orbit!

CONGRATULATIONS!
Pam 07/26/05 11:28 am WOW!!! that was so exciting - I watched it in theatre mode and Realplayer didn't let me down this time.Discovery has passed over UK (I didn't see it haha) and is now over the Indian Ocean. First engine firing to partially manoevre into correct orbit successful and docking should be on Thursday 6.18 Central Time. Congratulations to USA. I am now looking forward to watching the space walks.
Pam 07/26/05 11:31 am If anyone missed the launch they are going to do replays in a few minutes.
Tiger 07/26/05 11:53 am If you want to know where the shuttle is at any time see:

http://science.nasa.gov/temp/StationLoc.html

It is only the ISS just now but that is where the shuttle is headed.

Did you know they have a woman driving for the first time? :)

karen 07/26/05 12:29 pm No jokes please ....
Grace 07/26/05 04:39 pm Can the men among us resist??

Tiger, there is a link for the shuttle, underneath the one for the ISS.
Kathy 07/26/05 05:06 pm A woman at the helm, then it will be a successful mission.
Tiger 07/26/05 05:58 pm Oh I know Grace. It is just that when I posted the link the shuttle was shown as not yet in space.
Tiger 07/28/05 03:16 am Oh Shuttle grounded. Not good news.
Pam 07/28/05 08:02 am Capt.Eileen Collins has docked the shuttle - no problem for this lady driver - ahem !
Vince 07/28/05 04:05 pm I don't know if this link will work, but it is a picture of the view I had during the launch. I was 100 miles away at the time.....
