Pam 08/09/05 08:26 am Congratulations USA - you proved all the cynics wrong - Discovery has landed !
Pam 08/09/05 08:53 am At 20 times the landing speed of a commercial airliner that landing by Eileen Collins was smooth as silk !
Celeste 08/09/05 08:58 am thank you Pam.....A sigh of relief that all is well. Way to go Eileen Collins!
Zara 08/09/05 08:59 am Thats good news Pam. What a special day this is.

I am sorry I didn't think to let you know I was going to Rutland Water yesterday. I only really decided the day before, just wanted to go and have another look before we go away. I will let you know next time I am going, though I must admit I would be a bit nervous about my lack of knowledge! I know nothing compared to the people who contribute here.
P.S.
Am glad I didn't bump into Prince Phillip, bet he is glad he missed me too!
Marie 08/09/05 09:27 am Thank GOD they got back safely...
cathy 08/09/05 02:52 pm Interesting our British friends are so excited and I learn about it from them on a feathered wing site. Yesterday I learned about a wildfire in Eastern Washington by reading a bird watcher report. I am "out of the loop".
Matt 08/09/05 07:54 pm I do say, that was one huge Osprey that landed.
Marie 08/10/05 01:18 am Never mind Cathy........we birders are sometimes looked upon as rather STRANGE beings, especially by those that think they know and hear all.
