Thread subject: Report of Ospreys Migrating
Name Date Message
Anne 08/13/05 04:03 pm Two adult ospreys were seen in the Bowland area of our Bird Club's reporting area on 10th August. (We are in Lancashire, NW England). The birds stopped to fish at a small reservoir and flew off in a southerly direction after about an hour. They were almost certainly Scottish birds..
Tiger 08/13/05 04:11 pm The loch of Lowes female went about July 30.

See:

Anne 08/13/05 04:45 pm I see that Mr Dennis says that ospreys migrate singly. So these two must have met at the same 'service station' and it is coincidental that they left together. I like to think that one is from Loch of Lowes as they traditionally are the first to go.

BTW, I see that the female EJ at Loch Garten is expected to go any day now.
Tiger 08/13/05 04:51 pm Yes ospreys are solitary in migration.

EJ has probably gone. The last diary update was 25th July.
