Pam 08/14/05 07:31 am Hope Anne doesn't mind but I am posting the link from her message below because I don't want anyone to miss this spectacular series of short uplifting films of the Red Kite:

I have to say I am feeling rather "empty" myself now that we have an empty nest and for the first time for ages I got the puppy on the blanket. I hope DAVE (DAVE WHERE ARE YOU?) will be able to find the short clip of the two adult ospreys who visited briefly yesterday. I kind of feel that was a curtain call. Feeling quite sad....but then .... next year :) :)
Shelley 08/14/05 09:26 am Thanks for this, I had missed that! What a great site!
Madeline 08/14/05 01:42 pm Pam, thanks for the Red Kite Site. Viewed several of the short films. What beautiful birds they are, especialy in flight.
Anne 08/17/05 01:51 pm Of course I dont mind. I hope you do go to Gilgrin Farm Pam - it's fantastic, especially in winter. Red kites, buzzards, ravens and cheeky crows and magpies all gather at feeding time at approx 2pm. Then there is pandemonium as the birds come down to feed. And the bonus is that there are lots of red kites in that area and you can see them in their natural environment as you drive around. It is also worth visiting the RSPB Reserve of Ynys-hir on the Dyfi estuary in winter for the rarer Greenland race of White-fronted goose.

As for White-tailed eagle, you will have to go to Mull where you are virtually gauranteed to see them at special viewing points at the nest sites. They are awesome.
