Thread subject: Tai got up on the platform!
Name Date Message
cathleen 12/09/05 09:00 am Tai finally pulled himself up on the platform his Mom sleeps on, and sat up there self-importantly for a while, then stretched himself out like Mom does for a little while. I was wondering how he would get down, when he slid over the side and clanged into the bars, alarming Mei who was dozing on the other side. None the worse for wear, though! After a short visit with her, he clambered up again, and the next time, he made a more graceful exit off! The growing boy!
FOB Webmaster 12/09/05 02:07 pm So cute -- thanks, I hadn't seen those.
Celeste 12/09/05 05:35 pm Those are really good, colorful shots...Thanks Cathleen, I seem to miss a lot of the "good" stuff!!!!
Marie 12/09/05 08:32 pm Great shots Cathleen............I miss a lot now that I am working again. Still it is amazing how active he is in the wee small hours of a NY night time and that is often when I watch him as well as at my supper time.
cathleen 12/09/05 09:49 pm So right, Marie - it's now nighttime.
I just watched Mei bring the carton in to the den, proceed to rip it to shreds, and now Tai Shan and Mei are playing together though I'm sure she's hoping he'll get tired out enough to go to sleep. Fat chance, his having had too much naptime this afternoon! Oops - he's wandered outside again and Mei reluctantly follows.

In watching these touching exchanges on camera between mother and son, it is difficult but instructive of nature to remind myself that it would be quite dangerous for someone like me to handle either one of them. (And in fact, the staff only deal with Mei with bars in between.)
