Just came back from Bayards......first of all did not see any osprey in the nest on Sunrise Highway. A female osprey was sitting in the nest on the chimney of the Estate. That nest is an excellent one to observe osprey as one can stand on the ground beneath the chimney and see the osprey up close and personal. The female in that nest was HUGE!
I was there at least an hour and she would just sit there quietly looking around and even down at some of the people walking around beneath her. I finally did see her mate flying around and above her and at one point I thought I would "witness" a happening, but he just flew over her and then toward the water. I just couldn't get over how big she was, even sitting! |

Thank you for the report Celeste. Tomorrow I will be off and will add the Arboretum to my list of sites to visit.I hope the weather cooperates. |

When I was there last weekend, I saw the Ospreys in the chimney nest. Below that and in the back of the house that faces the water, there was a guy sitting in a chair, his feet propped up on another chair and snoring. I wasn't sure which was a better picture, total relaxation of the guy or the Ospreys. |
