Thread subject: Sparrows around Woods Hole Osprey nest
Name Date Message
Judy 04/18/05 10:01 am My mom brought this to my attention and sure enough there are several Sparrows that can be seen all around the nest at times. I have observed them most often when the Osprey are not there, however, this morning there were 3 Sparrows on the nest while the female Osprey was sitting in the nest. Is this a common occurrence?
Celeste 04/18/05 10:11 am When I was at Orient Point I noticed birds in "condos" under the nest. In past years we have seen even on the live cam, (more the first and 2nd year) birds also living under the nest. I have read that Osprey are extremely tolerant to these "tenants"!
karen 04/18/05 11:36 am We had them if not last year then the yeay before that have not seen any this year yet but someone did observe a grackle take twigs out from under Dennis beak this year.
