Thread subject: Back Creek Report
Name Date Message
Melanie 04/24/05 11:35 am I made it out onto the creek Saturday and am quite happy to report that not only have the two nests that were destroyed been rebuilt, but it appears that a THIRD nest has appeared in the third channel marker. We've never had three nests in the 10 years that I am aware of.

And when I got back to the apartment, I heard that all too familiar screaming and ran outside ΓΆ€“ there were 4 ospreys overhead who at first appeared to be doing an arial territorial "dance" but then a hawk of some sort appeared on the scene and all four ganged up on him for a 10 minute battle complete with requisite Osprey sound effects. Even some of my neighbors came out so see what was going on.
Cecilia 04/24/05 12:02 pm Wow and Wow!!! Good news about the creek ospreys. That's just wonderful. Please let us know what happens in those nests.

And I wish we all could have seen the arial battle...must have been exciting.
Celeste 04/24/05 03:32 pm Oh am I "envious"....that must of been so exciting! I get so excited when I see an osprey doing something I have never seen before that I will start jumping up and down! Of course my family thinks I have just about lost it! Oh well..... Really glad that the nests are back....
Lori 04/24/05 10:19 pm Happy osprey viewing to you this summer Melanie; I'm glad the osprey came back and rebuilt!
cathy 04/25/05 11:28 am Celeste and all - people think I have "lost it" when I get so exciting hearing or seeing an osprey. I wonder why some of us are so taken with ospreys and friends and partners react ranging from ignoring to obliging listening. Perhaps this is one reason to participate in this online community - a sense of shared passion.
Marie 04/25/05 04:58 pm Hey, if more people had as much 'PASSION' as we on this message board have for a subject/object or what ever, then there would be no time for some of the EVILS that man has created in our world today.
Kathy 04/25/05 05:28 pm I Agree!!
Celeste 04/25/05 05:34 pm you can say that again!
RonS 04/25/05 09:36 pm Amen, Marie!!!
