Thread subject: Two eggs now at Woods Hole.
Name Date Message
Judy 04/25/05 11:13 am The other day I observed some sort of construction machinery moving on the ground below the nest. Today there was a man wearing a construction hat that was walking around under the nest. Does anyone know what might be going on?
Melanie 04/25/05 12:49 pm There are not very responsive at Woods Hole - I have emailed them a couple of times to ask questions and gotten no response.
Kathy 04/25/05 02:17 pm I had also seen the work crew last week clearing the area and wondered what was going on.
One man was operating the machinery and two were standing nearby and seemed to be looking up at the nest. The female (?) flew away, I guess disturbed by the noise. I hope what they are doing won't interfere with the Ospreys. It's also nice to know there is another egg.
Melanie 04/25/05 04:13 pm That whole area is a construction zone right now (I just got an email). You can see where on campus the nest is by going to http://www.whoi.edu/home/index_search.html and locate #10 (Rinehart Coastal Research Center)
