Thread subject: Day 34
Name Date Message
Tiger 05/15/05 10:36 am It is day 34 of incubation so that first chick could be breaking its way out any time.

On the other hand if it is like the last two years we still have 5 days to go.

Marie 05/15/05 11:51 am Keeping my fingers crossed for the 17th, which is two-three more days. I haven't seen the little black dot on an egg yet which usually indicates a chick is on its way out.
Tiger 05/15/05 11:59 am If you look at the data from past years it seems that the first egg takes longer. Maybe this is where the 35 to 38 days comes from.
Marie 05/15/05 12:26 pm Yes you are right Tiger....I wonder if it is all to do with the greatest investment in the first chick...the best possible chance if it stays there and absorbs all the goodies from the egg before emerging.
