Thread subject: Head emerging from 3rd egg and foot emerging from 4th!
Name Date Message
Judy 05/23/05 11:58 am Can anyone confirm this?
Melanie 05/23/05 12:08 pm I saw the head on #3. There looks to be something yellow near #4 but I wouldn't call it a foot. More like junk,
Shelley 05/23/05 12:14 pm Maybe a dandelion?
Judy 05/23/05 12:44 pm I guess I was seeing things! I could have sworn I saw a foot moving. Maybe it was just the wind blowing on a piece of nesting material.
Shelley 05/23/05 01:27 pm It's out! Welcome, little one!
karen 05/23/05 02:22 pm I also thought I saw something moving near the 4th egg earlier today. quess not. Took lunch and missed lunchtime at the nest glad to have so many good observations to read.
Tiger 05/23/05 02:53 pm Egg 4 is only 33 days old so any hatching would be a sort of world record.

So this seems a bit unlikely.

Marie 05/24/05 12:49 am Yes I agree # 4 is a bit young yet for hatching but remember the last egg is packed with extra nutrients to sort of compensate for the late deliveryy, so it could hatch in two days time.Certainly it won't hang in there till it is 38 days old...I would imagine those eggs that mature till 38 days have the best chance of surviving.I think # 2 hatched when it was only 36 days old...correct me if I am wrong.
