Sarah Brown 05/31/05 10:22 am The breeding pair at Bassenthwaite Water in the Lake District posted this diary entry this morning:

"A second chick arrived last night, Monday, at 8.15pm ish. It has been fed this morning and all appear well."
Anne 05/31/05 10:46 am I am going over to see the Bassenthwaite ospreys next week. Do you know if any of the Loch of the Lowes chicks have survived? I may go up and see them too.
Tiger 05/31/05 11:16 am Well I have no official news on Loch of Lowes but if you look at the latest pic I think you will agree it looks like ONE :(

see:

It probably has eaten all its siblings.
Anne 05/31/05 04:19 pm You are joking ar'nt you?
Tiger 05/31/05 06:34 pm Yes but not 100%. We did see a dead chick being fed to its siblings last year.

Sarah Brown 06/04/05 10:50 am 2 chicks still doing well at Loch of the Lowes and Bassenthwaite
