Name Date Message
JoJo 06/07/05 08:04 am We have had falcons nest in our downtown area (of Richmond) for quite some time. This is an interesting article on this year's brood. Enjoy!

Celeste 06/07/05 09:27 am Yes it is a great article...I thought their "low tech" device to open the hatch was great! We have peregrines on a tall building in New York City, they are tagged, but if I remember correctly, I don't think they do anything to help the chicks first flight.
Mickey 06/07/05 05:58 pm Your right C. They leave the nest when they feel like it at the 55 water st platform/nest. Eventually, every chick from last year died due to unsuccessfull fledges. ( Im almost sure of it)
The nest is just above the busy highway along the East River.
JoJo 06/07/05 09:36 pm We had a bad year last year, only one survived. So this year it is reason to celebrate!
