Thread subject: Osprey story & fabulous pictures

||This may have been posted to the message board last year, which is how I think I found it. I figure with the number of new people to the site, that I would put it out there again since you can still access it in their archives.
Go to http://www.enviro-navair.navy.mil/ and on the left menu, click on Currents. You want the Winter 2004 issue. It downloads as a PDF. The pictures in this article are breath-taking and their graphics person did a lovely job on the layout. There are several two page spreads so once you download it you might want to print it out to get the full effect.

||Jamie, the photographer, loaned us one of the photos for a beautiful osprey wallpaper. You can see it in our web log here:
He's a terrific photographer and was very generous with the photos.

||It's a great article Melanie.....it was interesting reading how soft the chicks are and how fragile they are when they are handled for banding...and then of course those photos!

||Oh this is great stuff...........great close ups of these birds.
Thanks Melanie, and all others that keep us all informed so that we can truly indulge in our love of ospreys

||I really enjoyed the article on the Navy watching the health of the ospreys, and the well written articles and amazing photos. Is this the banding effort you will be part of, Melanie?

||At the moment I have no clue what agency is doing the banding. The only thing I do know is that where we will be banding (in one more week!) is not on Navy property - it's at a county maintained rec & parks location.
