||What a frightening experience for that girl. I had to look up what a Wedge Tailed Eagle looks like - not a bird I know - it's a huge bird, more like a Golden Eagle in size. Just for your info by the way, the Biodiversity Bald Eagle cam is back up again and there is a pair of eagles there right now. They have been bringing sticks to the nest. It has some snow in in and there have been a few flakes coming down although the water behind them looks lovely and blue. You have to keep restarting the live video but it's worth it:

||I remember reading that a bald eagle tried to attack a helicopter in Alaska once. Now that's a daring eagle. :-)

||I assume he/she broke off the attack before it became the headless eagle of sleepy hollow:))

||Yeah, it survived. Although I imagine its reputation grew among its fellow eagles. :-)

||I was visiting the assisted living place where my mother lives and was chatting with a man who flew many hours in a glider in Southern California. He said the eagles and hawks would ride the thermals and he would go to circle upwards with them. Sometimes he would be right with the eagles, but they didn't like him to be too close, he said. I thought it sounded like a lovely experience.
