As elephant seals come out of the water in this area and flop all over Race Rocks so that Pam can capture their antics, I thought you would love to see this ...lol Ãover your ears,...the noise is bedlam
Straight from California.........;-)
lynn 02/20/07 05:24 pm Hi Marie, you got that right about the Elephant Seals being raucous! Good thing no one lives near by or they'd go bonkers with the noise level.
Marie 02/20/07 07:51 pm http://losfarallones.blogspot.com/2005/12/elephant-seal-biology-101.html

Here's some interesting facts about these big creatures.

Apparently they undertake very long migrations, have the richest milk and dive the deepest of all the seals.
Celeste 02/20/07 09:32 pm They certainly seem to have a lot of things on their mind to discuss!!!!:-)
cathy 02/21/07 12:31 pm We need Pam to put on her elephant seal language decoder headset to tell us what is actually being said. I suspect there is quite a lot of complaining about conditions.
lynn 02/21/07 06:31 pm Have watching the Elephant Seal cam, and have been amazed by the fact that the seagulls just walk among the seals as if not worried that one of those huge animals will squash them.!
A question though, are those sealgulls out in CA the same as our gulls here on the east coast? Ours are for the most part Herring Gulls, and the CA ones look very similar>
