A sad item of news.
Celeste 02/22/07 03:57 am That is sad news--sad to see their frozen states of trying to keep warm or eat. Having this very cold snap of weather with the start of a very mild winter, I wonder how many other birds have been affected by staying put, or being confused with the weather.
Anne 02/22/07 06:55 am That is so sad. Loons, (or Great Northern Divers in the UK) winter around our coasts too and are sometimes found in reservoirs and lakes inland. I always wonder where they have come from when I see one. They seem to be solitary in the winter, so this is a mystery.
Marie 02/22/07 09:40 am Terrible news Pam. How truly sad......
Madeline 02/22/07 03:20 pm How sad to hear the bad news. How many other bird species are being fooled by the change of weather patterns? I hope it wasn't any kind of poisoning or contamination by pollutants that cause this. Very Sad
