Anne UK1 06/21/07 05:15 pm Every time I see these chicks lying at the edge of the nest, they're always at the south west corner which looks to be the only built up area so far.
So are Betty and Dennis building it up because the youngsters like it there best, or are the youngsters using it because it's been built up and feels safe?
martyc35 06/21/07 06:49 pm Whatever the reason, Anne UK1, they do it in all the nests, and in pretty much the same way. Two of the three are huddled at the edge in Minnesota, right now, and these still have their stripes.

Anne UK1 06/22/07 05:34 am I just wondered why our two choose this corner - or always seem to when I look in anyway. I've not seen them sprawled at the top or the right of the nest that I can remember. Maybe it's to do with the way the wind blows?
Pamela 06/22/07 06:40 am On the hottest days of summer a SW breeze picks up in the afternoons on Buzzards Bay in MA cooling things down and making for great sailing.
Anne UK1 06/22/07 05:53 pm That could be it then. Just tuning in now I notice it's very blustery today and the chicks have gone and lain exactly where I say I've never seen them - one at 12 o'clock and the other at 3 o'clock. Either it's the wind, or they read what I said and decided to prove me wrong! ;)
