Operation migration began today!

Whoops! And I really can spell! Whooping, not whoopping.
FOB Webmaster 10/13/07 04:59 pm Wow, look at all the people who donated to the "Remembering the Class of 2006".

That was nice that so many people donated in memory of all the birds that died in the storm. Such a loss.
Celeste 10/13/07 05:06 pm Thanks for posting this...been thinking about the cranes recently and what happened last year and was wondering, etc. I admire the efforts and dedication of these special people. I wish Animal Planet would repeat their documentary they did once on the cranes from Wisconsin. It's amazing.
Pamela 10/13/07 07:16 pm Ahhh, we've all been thinking of cranes. The following site perked me up after reading about all the young birds who had to be euthanized due to disease or perhaps genetic problems.

The film features sandhill cranes, not whooping cranes.

The URL is--birdquest.tv Click on pilot movie.
Madeline 10/14/07 11:56 pm Nice little film, with very personable bird watchers that " watch birds" It apears that sandhill cranes love to do that same mating dance that whooping cranes do. Thanks Pamela for the pilot URL.

Trish, it's so amazing watching the cranes bonding to the light gliders and learning who and where to migrate, they must get great satisfaction from the aschievements thaey have made with the cranes, GB ;-)
