Thread subject: Decorah Eagle Update
Name Date Message
clyde 01/12/10 01:27 pm The bald eagle is now on the nest having lunch: two pieces of carrion. One is a squirrel, the other idunno...a fish?
clyde 01/12/10 01:41 pm No, it's another squirrel.
cathy 01/13/10 10:28 am Interesting watching an eagle skin a squirrel. It pulled off the fur and tossed it away. Its definitely real.
Pam 01/13/10 12:29 pm It didn't fancy all that furry stuff :-))
FOB Webmaster 01/13/10 08:00 pm Just a side note: the Norfolk Eagle Cam is now live as well
cathleen 01/14/10 10:12 am Thanks on both these cams! Is anyone having trouble with the Decorah stream today?

Are any of the west coast cams online at all anymore?
clyde 01/14/10 11:10 am cathleen, the Decorah cam isn't working right now for me either.
Marie 01/14/10 05:11 pm and so is Lisa's Eagle can up and running...no eagles there at the moment, but I guess it won't be long before an egg will be laid.
The Decorah cam doesn't seem to be running today.
Marie 01/14/10 05:12 pm Nice eagle sitting on a branch at the Norfolk Eagle cam right now.
clyde 01/14/10 06:09 pm Yes, Marie, I observed the pair indulging in mating activity on that branch at around noon today (a nooner?). The male was noticeably smaller than the female.

Apparently they start that sort of thing earlier down in Old Virginny than in the snowier clime of Decorah.
Pam 01/15/10 12:07 pm Decorah is back today...less snow on the nest.
