Thread subject: Decorah Nest Cam - Very Interesting Weather Effect Right Now
Name Date Message
clyde 02/08/10 10:50 pm No Eagles just now , but the infra-red camera is producing a strobing effect of the snow in the nest bowl, while the snow flakes shooting right towards the cam at a rapid rate remind me of laser shots in a sci-fi movie. Very spacey.

Play some Pink Floyd and stare into it, and you'll think you're back in the '60s...if you're lucky enough to be that old.

At any rate, it is quite a dramatic view right now, IMHO, so please check it out while it lasts.
clyde 02/08/10 10:58 pm Damn! Now that dramatic strobing effect has stopped, while the snowflakes shooting toward the cam still continue. But that strobe light in the nest was really something else while it lasted. Did anyone else happen to catch it?
Pam 02/09/10 07:24 am I just looked in Clyde and getting a similar effect as the snow comes down quite hard and the wind blows. No sign of any birds right now...hardly surprising...although I do hear the occasional little cluck of something nearby, maybe roosting in the tree.
Anne UK1 02/09/10 08:11 am Missed the effect, but there's one cold eagle there this morning. Decorah
Marie 02/09/10 01:14 pm Yes what a snow storm last night but I did miss the visual effects you speak of Clyde. Too bad! The wind is howling there and no snow is falling . Amazingly those darn house sparrows survive anything the weather seems to send their way...
Pam 02/10/10 06:16 am See Peggyjeans highlights video from yesterday here
