Thread subject: Update on Tai Shan in China
Name Date Message
FOB Webmaster 02/13/10 05:08 pm The National Zoo has been a bit slow with information on Tai Shan's adjustment to his new home in China (compared to the Atlanta Zoo and their news about Mei Lan).

Maybe the Zoo has been slow because of the snow, but Pandas International has posted a great update that describes how well Tai is doing. Also, there's talk of maybe getting a web cam set up in China, if the Chinese will allow it.

Glad to hear that Tai is making such a smooth transition.
Marie 02/13/10 06:31 pm mmmm great info Lisa...Glad he seems to be doing OK. Too bad his quarantine quarters are so confining.
Celeste 02/14/10 04:34 am Thanks for the update Lisa. I also wish his quarters were not as confining also. I hope things continue to go well, and hopefully that generous donation of a cam will be used!
Nancy L 02/14/10 09:58 am Thank you, Lisa, for that up-date on Tai.
cheryl 02/20/10 04:28 pm Thank you for the link Lisa. I've been out of the loop for a while, and I appreciated seeing that Tai Shan is OK.
With the absence of info directly from the zoo, the link you provided is even more appreciated.
FOB Webmaster 02/20/10 07:11 pm You're very welcome. I'm really mystified why the zoo hasn't posted an update. I heard Nicole -- the keeper who went with him -- is already back at work.

They should really update the panda page even if it's just to say he's settling in nicely. They obviously know how much folks want to be reassured that he's in good shape.
