Shelley 03/16/10 08:53 am She is so watchful. I love how, while sitting calmly, she gathers nesting materials close around her so that, in essence, she builds a nest-within-a-nest. So cozy!

The sparrows must be sub-letting the nest downstairs, there is so much twittering yet they remain out of sight. I remember at the DPOF nest one year, there was a family of something who used to go in and out just to the bottom right of Betty's nest. It was hilarious to watch. Such opportunists! I guess they know the security in this neighbourhood is good! ;-)

The colour and clarity at Decorah is best at this time of day, too, I find. No glare or shadows yet.

As far as I can tell, still nothing to report at the hummer nest...
Pamela 03/16/10 09:32 am Shelley, she really does snuggle in the nest and makes it look cozy.
I notice that the river has overflowed the banks and seems to be in the pasture. Severe flooding is occuring throughout the country this week.
Is this the eagle that was young and was pictured feeding herself and not her young? If I remember correctly, the male finally intervened and set a precedent for her to follow. It will be interesting to see what happens in the next month.
Marie 03/16/10 01:02 pm Indeed Shelley...she is a real little nester. !
