Thread subject: Osprey Egg at Washington Web Cam
Name Date Message
cathy 04/28/10 05:18 am I returned from a short trip HERE to find that the ospreys in Washington have an egg. There is also apparently some yellow netting in the nest, which the adult ospreys are not tangled in, but observers have been concerned.
HERE
Also the streaming eagle video shows a great eagle nest on Lake Washington where an egg has been laid.

Both have infrared light for night viewing. HERE

Pam 04/28/10 06:08 am That netting may not be troubling the adult birds but I could see it being a problem with the smaller feet of any young ones in the nest.
cathy 04/28/10 08:47 am I hope it is removed before hatching.
martyc35 04/28/10 12:04 pm Great pics of you and those lovely children and friends, Cathy.

The netting is scary to look at, but I'm glad the adult birds are so far free from trouble and maybe getting ready for a second egg.

cathy 04/28/10 08:43 pm Actually, I notice two little gray heads in the eagle's nest.
martyc35 04/29/10 11:30 am OT: My heart goes out to you and all the teachers and kids in China today. So sorry to hear of those insane attacks on school children. I hope that's the last of it now.

cathy 04/29/10 07:31 pm Thanks. For the most part, the feeling in China is one of warm and close family ties. There is a sense of peace in the midst of the chaos of a developing country. There is lots of stress here, but also a light-heartedness. Its unbelievable that in the last 3 months there have been 3 attacks on schoolchildren.
