Thread subject: Two chicks at Panama City, Fl
Name Date Message
SamiS 05/05/10 02:58 pm Hi...you may already have knowledge of this site

http://www.northwestfloridaonline.com/panhandleparade/index.php/externals/ospreycam/

There are two chicks!
FOB Webmaster 05/05/10 03:15 pm Screaming their little heads off for the parent to come back. :-)

Boy, I didn't realize Florida chicks would still be that small, and they're on the wrong side of the peninsula. They could be impacted by the oil spill if it hits Florida's Gulf side. I hope the bay protects them from the Gulf.
SamiS 05/05/10 03:40 pm You are right!! Experts fear the Gulf Loop current could bring the crud up the E coast,
Frightening :-(
jazzel26 05/07/10 02:07 pm There is only one surviving chick. It seems to be strong, the male is delivering fish and the female is doing a good job.

Because this nest is in far Northwest Florida, the nesting and hatch dates are normal....

HANCOCK has a thread for this nest and BCAW has posts in the "Misc USA Osprey" topic.

A very interesting location...

FOB Webmaster 05/08/10 09:47 pm Hmm...the little bit I watched them the parents seemed to be gone a while considering the sun was out and it was over 80 degrees.
