Thread subject: WMBB Nest Failure?
Name Date Message
Mickey 05/08/10 08:10 pm no sign of any adult for hours. The way chicks blend in, I'm not sure I see 1 chick or none. WTF happened if anyone knows?
FOB Webmaster 05/09/10 08:13 am I see one chick at the top of the nest, but no adult, and the chick isn't moving.

How weird -- the weather doesn't seem to have been bad. And both parents were seen after the first chick died, so they were both around.

Wonder if it was something genetic or in the food chain.
SamiS 05/09/10 02:39 pm Can't see any chick in the nest. Sad situation. Adult just flew off the nest.

FOB webmaster...does this nest have a high incidence of mortality?
martyc35 05/09/10 03:51 pm It's in Panama City, Florida. Could be anything.
FOB Webmaster 05/09/10 07:25 pm I'm not sure of the history of that nest. It looked like a good location and healthy birds. Such a shame.
