Nancy L 06/05/10 12:35 pm Today I finally saw both osprey parents on the nest. A feeding of the 3 healthy-looking chicks was in progress. I'm happy!
Madeline 06/06/10 12:04 am I guess today was a lucky day for seeing osprey feeding their chicks. At Timber Point GC , both [arents were at the nest but mom was feeding the chicks and dad stayed to watch the entire time. The other nest there also had both parents on the nest, but I'm not sure if they had chicks yet. West Sayville had 2 little heads bobbeling around the other day, aa good sign. The natural nest was lost with the tree it was in during the terrible storms we had several months ago, but the birds are trying to build a nest on the limbs of a scrub pine. Too late and not a very good idea, butr itls nice to see that the pair is back. The nest at Montauk Hwy and SS seem to be busy also, so there must be chicks.
Nancy L 06/07/10 11:30 am Yes, I could see action there (SS & Montauk) yesterday.
