martyc35 06/23/10 04:36 pm You Brits certainly know how to host a tennis tournament. The Wimbledon match between Isner/Mahut has just been called for the SECOND day in a row because of darkness (seven hours today, and they didn't finish). It now stands at 59 games all in the 5th set, with all records broken for longest match, longest set, most aces, you name it. They will resume tomorrow, and the French guy has a blister on one finger. Otherwise, they seem pretty fit. The resiliency of an osprey, I'd say. Stay tuned.

Pam 06/23/10 04:43 pm I feel exhausted just watching, unbelievable.
Anne UK1 06/24/10 08:43 am I switched on last night at 52-53 and couldn't for the life of me work out what was going on! Hoping to catch some of the action today - I've been a bit bogged down trying to sort through all my downloads of the last few days. I'm getting there slowly ...

Congrats to your football team too! Even better, you topped the table - I'm out tomorow and would have missed us playing if we'd won the group.
Pam 06/24/10 12:10 pm Final set.....Isner (USA) won 80 games to 78...wow...
martyc35 06/24/10 12:40 pm Yes, we held on in football, but the tennis had me riveted. Just watched the end (repeated) of the Isner/Mahut match, and what a thriller. It lasted a total of 11 hrs 5 mins, with the 5th set a final of 70 to 68. Unbelievable, indeed. And to think, I lived long enough to see something new and different!

Pam 06/24/10 12:57 pm Yes....correction....70 - 68.... I could not correct my previous message. Got a message that it no longer existed or I was not the owner, both not true. I liked the fact that they made special presentations to the players after the game, that was nice.
martyc35 06/24/10 01:08 pm I get that problem with editing every once in awhile. The numbers beside the messages are sometimes incorrect, but later they correct themselves. Oh, fooey, we all know what we mean on this list, anyway. I have to say we have better records than Wimbledon. I was trying to see when Federer plays again, but they don't have that up yet. No doubt because it depends on who else wins before then. I know he's still in, of course, just wanted to know when to tune in.
