Thread subject: Dawn Chorus: Shetland Islands, Puffins
Name Date Message
martyc35 07/04/10 02:04 pm Matching Mole took a short trip to Scotland and is agog about the sea/shore birds there. She loves the puffins and all the birds, also the countryside and the people. She uses N.American names for some birds, but she explains that. Enjoy.

BETH-OH 07/04/10 03:18 pm Thanks marty for the link-Puffins :-)
martyc35 07/04/10 03:22 pm I discovered from reading more carefully that Matching Mole is a guy, not a she. His wife was along on the trip, but attending a conference somewhere while he was taking all the great puffin pics. My mistake.

Shelley 07/04/10 04:07 pm As always, thanks, Marty, for posting this link. I, too, am among those who love puffins; have ever since I was a little girl. There is a place in Nova Scotia called Puffin Island. Many years ago (1986 or so), I went on a boat tour to see them. I am extremely water phobic and generally do NOT go on boats for any reason so you have to know how much I wanted to see those puffins! They are really small, too!!
This was a great Dawn Chorus today!
Celeste 07/04/10 09:17 pm Seeing those puffins in Nova Scotia is on "our" To Do list!

Thanks as always for that great site Marty.
Kelly 07/05/10 06:36 am Here's the link, Celeste, for "Bird Island" located in Cape Breton. Hope you do make the trip ... there is so much to see and do :)))

Thanks, Marty ... that was great :)
Celeste 07/05/10 08:34 am Thanks Kelly!
